Rest For Our Souls.

Scripture
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” ~ Matthew 11:28-30
And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”
~ Mark 2:27-28
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
~ Ephesians 1:7
Prayer
Holy Father in heaven, let us take time today to rest in the peace that comes from Your redemptive grace given to us through the blood of Jesus Christ. Let us honor the Lord of the Sabbath by honoring the day You put aside for us to find rest from our work and to spend time with You. Father, give us rest today for our souls. Amen.
Testimony
God knew us and loved us so much that He created and established a holy day of rest just for us. A day so important to the Lord, so holy in His eyes, that He made it the fourth commandment. We read in the Apostle John’s first epistle, the fifth chapter, that if we love God then we ought to keep His commandments and that His commandments are not burdensome. James, the brother of our Lord Jesus, also tells us (James 2:10) that if we are guilty of disobedience to one point of the law then we are guilty of breaking them all. It was the love of God that gave us life at Creation and His love that redeemed us through Christ crucified.
Wisdom
Let us remember each Sabbath day with thankful hearts that we will have rest not just for our bodies, but also for our souls.
