Be Not Complacent
by:
Scripture
“And it shall come to pass at that time that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men who are settled in complacency, who say in their heart, ‘The LORD will not do good, nor will He do evil.’ ~ Zephaniah 1:12
Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.
~ Zephaniah 2:3
Prayer
Holy Father in heaven, let us be searchable before You this day that the lamps of heaven will not find us complacent in such a time as this. Let us stay focused on Your commandments; Your Kingdom work, that we will seek Your face each day with humble hearts and uphold justice with confidence in Your Spirit. Let the righteousness bestowed upon us at Calvary keep us hidden from Your anger that we will be protected in Your Day. Amen.
Testimony
Complacency is not holy. It is not heavenly or God like. Complacency has cost many nations to fall, many freedoms to evaporate, many lives to be ended and, in the context of faith, many souls to be lost forever. Complacency is not a place that believers in Jesus Christ want to be in. Complacency leads to lukewarm, false comfort that repulses our Lord (Revelation 3:16). Let stay focused this day forward on the will of God for our lives, His coming Kingdom and our soon to return King Jesus. Let us be teachable and let us be useful.
Wisdom
I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever. ~ Thomas Jefferson
