Choose Marvelous Faith

Scripture

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”
And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! ~ Matthew 8:5-10
*
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. ~ Mark 6:4-6

Prayer

Holy Father in heaven, Your Word professes that only two things made Jesus Christ marvel: great faith and great unbelief. Which way will we choose today to make Him, who brought everything that is into existence? Only by the blood of Jesus Christ are we worthy to be faithful servants. Therefore let us seek Your will through His healing, comfort and wisdom each day, in fervent prayer, trusting in His mercy, power and compassion to say the word from heaven for our need(s). Let us not waver in our faith, finding strength this day in Your faithfulness to us, to push back against the daily spiritual battles meant to distract us away from Him who loves us, even to death on a cross. Amen.
