Rend Your Hearts

Scripture

“Now, therefore,” says the LORD, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him— A grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God? ~ Joel 2:12-14
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? ~ James 2:17-20

Prayer

Holy Father in heaven, let us this day rekindle the first love passion that we felt when we fell in love with Jesus Christ. Let us turn away from the tainted doctrines of this world and back to You, with rended and contrite hearts, that our lives will become the works of Your Kingdom, letting You marvel at our faith. Let Your mercy reign down on Your remnant in these times, not for our sake but for Your sake and the sake of Your name. Amen.
