Joan of Arc French Patriot for Christ
Joan of Arc lived in what was to become northern France, and fought against an English invasion in support of the crowning of dauphin Charles VI as the first king of France. Only a teenager, she led forces in battle, claiming to have been instructed by the voice of God. Being victorious she was later captured and burned at the stake for heresy, becoming a martyr and a heroine in French history.
