Let’s talk about AI Water and Power Usage as a Shared Resource – Informed Consent of the Governed?

A great comparison of Prevailing Narrative v. Actual Events:

This massive and sudden thrust to build data processing facilities throughout the USA at great cost in money and resources?  The narrative it seems is to win the AI race against China and the rest of the globe.  Is that a national priority?  What is the cost exactly in terms of regional water usage and power supply?  How will be address other national concerns such as new gasoline refineries?

Are Americans actually represented in commitment to using our shared natural resources?

Excellent questions raised about forever chemicals released into the atmosphere, not to mention jobs lost, and the costs imposed on the public while the tech companies reap the rewards.  Just how much water and electric are we using?  How much does it affect reservoirs and aquifers?  What is the exhaust and by product consequences?

And the original short covering the Oregon Town Hall.  Why are they FOREVER Chemicals?  Because they can’t be boiled away.

Takeaways from our Audience

Forever isn’t always a good thing…

If the water output from data centers is polluted with “Forever Chemicals” i.e., heavy metal toxins that don’t rapidly disappear from the ground water, then what happens to drinking supply? What good are lakes and rivers for when boil water alerts and self-sufficiency require these sources for human consumption?

Opportunity for Full Public Exposure

The appropriate Congressional Committee should publish a report with gov’t and private sector concerns/findings and spell it out on a 6th grade level. Then locals apply their specific concerns. There needs to be levels of representation here, and this is a great place to start.
