Holy Father in heaven, as Americans we most often take our earthly freedoms for granted. As humans, we crave freedom yet when we have it, we so often abuse it, ignore it, or sometimes even give it away. Unfortunately, it's much the same with the spiritual freedom we obtained freely through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He paid an enormous price for our sins, that the burden of slavery would be removed and the penalty of our death transferred to Him. Today, let us remember all of our freedoms, physical and spiritual, with thanks and appreciation, not just on specific holidays designated by man, but every day. Let us thank God for all of our blessings, and most specifically the blessing of a Savior in Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and gives us liberty to follow Him and be saved. Amen.
